This informational webinar is designed for new stewards who would like to learn more about AFGE and their role as a worksite representative. The webinar includes a virtual tour of the resources on AFGE’s main website and an overview of the online training available through AFGE Learn LMS (Learning Management System). They will explore the opportunities and benefits that are available to members and how they can be used engage and represent employees at their workplace.

How to access the online tools and resources that are available to stewards.
How to engage and educate through active worksite representation.
Where to learn more about member programs such as the Mentorship Institute, the AFGE Retiree Program, the Legislative and Political Coordinator Program and the AFGE LEAD Training Program.
How to plan next steps in your development as an AFGE Steward in a high participation union.

GotoTraining (Online Training Platform)
You will be asked to provide your name, contact information, email, agency and a contact phone number where you can be reached at the time of the training.
After registering you will receive confirmation and reminder emails that contain the links and important information that you will need to join the training.
Preparation
AFGE uses GotoTraining to deliver its online training. Some agency locations require permission or a special IT setup to join a conference. To ensure that you have a successful training we strongly recommend that you read email instructions closely and link to the “test session” to make sure that you will be able to access the course from your computer. Please join a test session to check your equipment connection prior to the conference.
